We ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes early. This allows you to get checked in, use the restroom and provides you with the opportunity to purchase food or beverages from our affiliated café Urban Wilderness Alaskan Fare Coffee Tea & Energy.

Time: Boarding begins at 8:15AM, and departure is around 8:30 AM. Exact departure times may vary slightly depending on the season. You will be notified the day before.

Start your journey bright and early with a convenient pickup from the Downtown Anchorage Visitors Center. Your expert guide will ensure you're fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

3. Drive to Matanuska Glacier

Sit back and enjoy a picturesque drive through the heart of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. The drive offers spectacular views of rugged mountains, expansive valleys, and glacial-fed rivers, setting the stage for the adventure that awaits. 3. Glacier Hike & Exploration

Duration: Approximately 2.5-hour hike

Upon arrival at the glacier, your guide will provide all necessary gear and a thorough safety briefing before beginning the hike. Equipped with crampons, trekking poles, and safety gear, you'll embark on a journey across the ice. Explore crevasses, ice caves, and stunning blue-hued ice formations. This is your chance to walk on the glacier, touch ancient ice, and feel the raw power of nature beneath your feet. Don’t forget your camera, this is the kind of beauty you’ll want to capture and cherish forever!

4. Return to Anchorage

Departure: Approximately 3:00 PM

After a day filled with awe-inspiring moments, you’ll head back to Anchorage. Reflect on the incredible sights and experiences from your glacier adventure. You’ll be dropped off at the original pickup point around 5:00 PM, leaving you plenty of time to continue your Alaskan journey or relax after an unforgettable day.

Check-in Details

Arrival Time: Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. This allows time for check-in, safety briefings, and getting ready for the adventure. Check-In Location: The check-in desk is located at the our downtown office at 509 W 3rd Ave. directly across the street from the downtown hilton hotel. Late Arrivals: If you arrive after the designated check-in time, we cannot guarantee your spot on the tour, as we must depart promptly to stay on schedule. We highly recommend arriving early to ensure a smooth and timely start. What to Expect: When you arrive, you will sign in, receive your gear, and go over safety information with your guide. Please be prepared to leave your personal items securely at the check-in location, as only essential items will be brought on the hike. Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation message the day before the tour with all the details and reminders. If you have any questions about the check-in process or the tour, don't hesitate to reach out to us ahead of time. Arriving early helps ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience, and we look forward to getting you ready for your glacier adventure!
